Engineered hardwood, a real wood veneer over a plywood core, handles humidity better than solid hardwood and can be glued down directly to concrete with the right adhesive. Solid hardwood suits second-floor rooms over a wood subfloor, where the moisture risk is lower. On a slab, we check moisture and install a vapor barrier first.

Most Houston slabs aren't flat, so we grind down high spots and fill low spots with self-leveling compound. Your new floor sits perfectly flat, with no "hollow sound" and no broken locking mechanisms. To fight hydrostatic pressure, we install high-grade moisture barriers or liquid membranes between the concrete and your flooring.
