Why TGR

Built for Houston's Shifting Clay

Concrete fails when the ground moves. On Houston's clay, concrete poured without proper steel reinforcement snaps when the soil shifts, which is why unreinforced concrete can crack within the first year. We build every slab with steel reinforcement from the start.

Rebar-Reinforced

Rebar-reinforced concrete slabs and extensions, so the slab holds together when the clay moves.

$0 Down

No deposit is required to begin work. You pay when the work is complete and you're satisfied.

One Contractor

The same in-house crew handles the tear-out, the pour and any patio cover built on top.

What to Look For

Signs Your Driveway Needs Replacing

Patching buys time. These are the signs a slab needs to come out and be poured right.

Cracks That Keep Growing

Hairline cracks are common. Cracks that widen, multiply or run the full width of the slab mean it's breaking apart.

Sinking or Lifting Sections

Panels that drop or heave create trip hazards and show the soil underneath is moving.

Water Pooling or Running to the House

A slab that has settled the wrong way sends water toward your foundation instead of away from it.

Buckling Concrete

Buckled sections usually mean the slab was poured without enough reinforcement for the soil.

Straight Answers

Concrete Driveways & Patios FAQs

The questions Houston homeowners ask us most before the work starts.

Why does concrete crack in Houston?

Concrete fails when the ground moves. Houston's clay swells and shrinks with moisture, and concrete poured without proper steel reinforcement snaps when the soil shifts.

Do you use rebar?

Yes. We build rebar-reinforced concrete slabs and extensions, so the slab holds together when the clay moves.

Can you replace my whole driveway?

Yes. We break out and haul away the old driveway, prepare the base, set the steel and pour a new reinforced slab.

Do you do stamped concrete?

Yes. We build stamped concrete patios and extensions as well as standard broom-finished driveways and slabs.

Can you build a patio cover on the new slab?

Yes. One contractor handles the slab and the cover, and for heavy structures we drill deep concrete piers so the patio doesn't sink or separate from the house over time. Patio covers in Houston.

Do you require a deposit?

No. With our $0 Down Payment policy, you pay nothing until the work is complete. Texas Greatest Remodelers does not require deposits to start work and does not file liens simply to begin a project.

Can I finance a new driveway?

Yes. We offer plans with 0% interest and terms up to 15 years, and the loan funds only after you verify the quality of the work. All financing is subject to credit approval by the third-party lender. See our financing options.

Are you insured?

Absolutely. We carry a $2 Million General Liability policy and Worker’s Compensation coverage to protect your home and our crew. We are happy to provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) directly from our provider with your name on it before we step foot on your property.

Do you give free estimates?

Yes. We come to your home, look at the work with you and give you a clear plan for what it takes. Nothing hidden. Nothing inflated.
