AC Repair & Replacement in Houston
We diagnose your air conditioning first, then give you a straight answer on repair or replacement, with the work done by Texas-licensed AC technicians. $0 down: you pay when the work is complete.

A Straight Answer on Repair or Replace
A struggling AC is not always a dead AC. A clogged drain line, a failed capacitor or a refrigerant leak can be repaired. An older system that keeps breaking down may cost more to keep than to replace. We find the cause first and tell you plainly which side you are on.
$0 Down
No deposit is required to begin work. You pay when the work is complete and you're satisfied.

Every single project is backed by our Lifetime Transferable Warranty.
Signs Your AC Needs Attention
Houston summers are hard on air conditioners. These are the signs to call about before a small problem becomes a breakdown.
Warm Air or Weak Airflow
Air that isn't cold, or vents that barely blow, can point to low refrigerant, a dirty coil, a failing part or leaking ductwork.
Water Where It Shouldn't Be
A wet ceiling or a full drain pan usually means a clogged condensate line. Caught early it is a simple fix; left alone it damages drywall.
Short Cycling and Noise
A system that turns on and off every few minutes, or starts to buzz, rattle or squeal, is telling you something is wrong.
Rising Bills, Older System
Higher bills on a system that keeps needing repairs are a sign it may be time to compare repair with replacement.

How AC Repair and Replacement Works
No pressure. No surprises. Diagnosis comes before any part or system is sold.
One
Diagnosis
We check the system, the airflow, the drain line and the thermostat, and find the cause of the problem.
Two
Repair or replace, in writing
We show you what the repair takes and, if replacement makes more sense, what a new system involves and what it will cost. No pressure. No upsell.
Three
Permits and scheduling
We handle any permits the job needs and schedule the work under one project manager.
Four
Sizing the new system
On a replacement, the new system is sized to your home, not just matched to the old unit. New systems now use newer refrigerants such as R-454B or R-32, and we tell you which one yours uses.
Five
Installation or repair
The repair is made, or the new system goes in, with the refrigerant lines, drain line and thermostat connected and checked.
Six
Start-up, then you pay
We start the system, check that it cools properly and walk you through it. With our $0 Down Payment policy, you pay nothing until the work is complete.
AC Repair & Replacement FAQs
The questions Houston homeowners ask us most before the work starts.
Should I repair or replace my AC?
It depends on what is wrong, how old the system is and how often it has needed repairs. A single failed part on a sound system is usually worth repairing. An older system with repeated breakdowns or a major failure is often better replaced. We diagnose it first and give you a straight answer.
Are your AC technicians licensed?
Yes. Texas requires air conditioning work to be done under an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration contractor license from TDLR, and the AC work on our projects is done by licensed technicians.
Can you replace my AC as part of a bigger remodel?
Yes. The company is structured to manage multiple scopes of work on the same home under one coordinated project plan, so a new system can be planned with a remodel or an addition. Complete home remodeling.
What efficiency rating does a new AC need in Houston?
Texas is in the Department of Energy's Southeast region. Since January 1, 2023, a new split-system central AC installed here must be rated at least 14.3 SEER2 below 45,000 Btu/h, or 13.8 SEER2 at larger sizes. Higher ratings cost more up front and use less power.
Why does one room never cool down?
Rooms under a hot attic or over a garage, long duct runs and leaky ducts are the usual causes. A bigger AC rarely fixes that on its own; attic insulation, duct repair or better airflow to the room usually does. Attic insulation in Houston.
Do you require a deposit?
No. With our $0 Down Payment policy, you pay nothing until the work is complete. Texas Greatest Remodelers does not require deposits to start work and does not file liens simply to begin a project.
Is AC work covered by your warranty?
Yes. Our Lifetime Transferable Warranty covers the workmanship on every trade we perform, and a new system also carries the manufacturer's own warranty on the equipment. How our warranty works.
Can I finance a new AC system?
Yes. We offer plans with 0% interest and terms up to 15 years, and the loan funds only after you verify the quality of the work. All financing is subject to credit approval by the third-party lender. See our financing options.
Are you insured?
Absolutely. We carry a $2 Million General Liability policy and Worker’s Compensation coverage to protect your home and our crew. We are happy to provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) directly from our provider with your name on it before we step foot on your property.
Do you give free estimates?
Yes. We come to your home, look at the work with you and give you a clear plan for what it takes. Nothing hidden. Nothing inflated.
